Bought these at a discount price, returned product. Got them in an amazon box but sandals were new inside, no signs of being previously worn. I have had several sets of ECCO Sandals and these were the best price I have had. This is my third pair! I have worn out two previous pairs on European adventures. Very comfortable! Unfortunately at 81 years old I probably won’t be needing a fourth pair!Quality and appearance are excellent. Expensive but worth it.My husband wore similar ecco sandal model for about 9-10 years, and another pair prior to that. The sandal is so good he does not even want to try another band. So we got this new pair again this month, and he is just as much happy if not more with a new pair. The sandals are comfortable and lasting and look good.Good quality and support!I have several pairs of Ecco sandals and they never fail to give me the support and comfort I like.Love these! The ladies sandal is too narrow…b width, same sandal in mens has a standard D width which is exactly what I needed.Planters fasciitis went away after wearing the shoes for two weeks.I’d seen so many positive reviews for this sandal, that I was sure I was going to love it when I ordered it, but I’m beginning to wonder if people who wrote these positive reviews actually wore the sandal for at least a mile of walking. I highly doubt it. The fit is good, my feet sit in them nicely, neither too loose nor tight, and this is likely what reviewers are positively commenting on. The problem, however, is that after walking a mile you begin to feel the rubbing points on the sandal due to protrusions inside the sandal created during their manufacture, and they badly rub above your big toe and the edge of your little toe. I have normally shaped feet (no bunions etc.) so it’s not due to my feet. Upon careful inspection, I noticed that the sandals have certain rough spots where the seams meet. On both sides near the top of my foot there is excessive rubbing and I found out after walking just 1 mile with the sandals it was extremely difficult to continue walking in them. Tightening them, or loosening them, did not help. I guarantee you will have blisters on your feet if you wear these for more than one mile of walking. This is an issue of poor manufacturing, and not a one-off defect; your feet will rub and burn on these internal protrusions of the sandal regardless of how you might try to reposition your foot in the sandal —it won’t help. These sandals are just plain uncomfortable. If you wear socks, you may have more success on longer distances, but why would you wear sandals with socks? I do not recommend these sandals.I bought these in replacement of my beloved Merrell Kahuna III, the comfiest sandals I've ever owned. What I don't like about the Kahuna's is that for the price they wear out far too quickly (they lasted two seasons) but I do like to cover a lot of miles. I expect more for a sandal of this price point, especially a vibram sole.So bought the ECCOs to see if they would last longer. The things I like: Look okay (not as good as the Merrells IMHO). Seem well made and sturdy, with good quality materials throughout. The sole is thick, cushioned and seems like it could last a good while - can't comment on long-term longevity because I haven't had them long enough. The straps retain your feet well and I would recommend going one size up from normal shoe size. The width is quite narrow.Stuff I don't like: The fit... I don't find these particularly comfortable. The stitching on the inside of the toe strap has caused sore abrasion on my little toe. The sole has caused a blister on the ball of my feet - not an awful one but a blister nonetheless. Due to the thickness of the soles I feel like the foot sits too high up (they feel like platform shoes for me, not that I've ever worn any!), especially after coming from the Merrells. I've stumbled over sideways for instance on uneven pavements. I like to be closer to the ground and feel more (not so close that it's uncomfortable), which I got in the Merrells. The drop from heel to toe also feels too high, I feel like my toes are angled downwards slightly too much (again compared with the Merrells, which are pretty flat). I can't comment at this stage whether these comfort issues will resolve themselves as they break-in.Bottom line: Would I buy these again? It's a resounding "No" from me! In fact I've actually just bought another pair of Merrells (stick with what you know), which despite the relatively fast wear, were supremely comfortable out of the box and continued to be. Like a cherished pair of comfy slippers, they disappear on the feet, and I look forward to many more happy miles. My old Rohan sandals had served me brilliantly at home and on my travels around the world for 8 years, but the footbed had worn almost totally hard and flat with no cushioning left. This meant that my knees complained bitterly on our recent walking holiday. So what to replace them with? After reading a lot of reviews and comparison sites, I narrowed it down to these ECCO Offroads and the similarly priced Merrell Kahuna Iii. I tried the Merrells on at my local Milletts, but found them rather narrow and with a worryingly thin sole. Furthermore, the ECCO sandals were available in half sizes, so I plumped for these here on Amazon.Pleased to say that these are superb. the 11.5/46 is a perfect fit and the almost Doc Marten-level of bounciness in the soles is exactly what I wanted. Now just need to book another holiday to put these really to the test but, so far, I absolutely love them!Like the other eleven sandals I have now returned from all ranges of expense these had no padding on the underside of leather crossstraps.and the instep straps are far too short .Most people wear socks for most of year so insteps are delicate skin.I am trying to replace a Clarks pair bought in 2005 which had such padding and much longer straps( no Clarks sandals now have either! )This pair also had no adjustment in length of toe straps !These were bought to replace my Merrell Kahuna sandals that I have had for over eight years but had finally started to fall apart. These Ecco sandals compare very well with the Merrells. They offer adjustment around the heel. The other two straps are the same. I like the sole which seems to be quite tough with a good tread. The footbed has a material covering so it remains to be seen how it copes with getting wet, say during a walk on a wet beach. I’ve only had them about a week but so far have been very satisfied.
