Asterix at the Olympic Games (Astérix aux Jeux Olympiques) [Region 2] - Classic French Animation for Family Movie Nights

I've loved Asterix comics for years and this is a remarkably accurate depiction with a wealth of care and detail not seen since Altman's Popeye. It was so accurate for both the comic and historic reality and blended the both so completely that the immersion was total. The CGI was great and meshed perfectly with so many wonderful comic book quality prats and jokes that I laughed throughout.Gérard Depardieu and Clovis Cornillac absolutely nail the lead roles in both looks and acting with Benoît Poelvoorde demonstrating he has remarkable comic chops as a fall guy. I must say, Alain Delon has to be the best Caeser I have ever seen and Vanessa Hessler one of the most beautiful princesses.It's subtitled w/ English but frankly, you can understand what's going on much of the time without.I guarantee this flick will make you laugh.Ave, me.
