My least favorite part of Sentinels is the Villain setup/card mechanic, since are constantly you flipping them throughout the course of every game. These over sized villain cards do three things that I think increase the enjoyability of the game:1. They add new art, and make the villains seem larger and more menacing as a result. The cards make the villains the biggest presence on the board, adding to the feeling of oppression they give the player. They really feel like they should have been in the normal game from the outset, and the experience of having them is awesome.2. They simplify the fiddly nature of the villain cards. Instead of flipping two cards, maintaining modifiers on both, these combine them into one experience. That might sound like a small, insignificant thing, but it really isn't. Sentinels has so much stuff to keep track of, anything that minimizes the modifiers is a welcome change.3. They give you promotion villains previously unreleased. You have a few new versions of some classic villains, all with new mechanics and setups. This is added value to your game, which is fantastic. For $15, you can't find this much value in most board games. Sure, it requires you to have the expansions to make use of many of the villains, but I recommend getting them as well. This is a fantastic addition to a fantastic game. If you love Sentinels of the Multiverse, this is simply a must buy.
